Regulation respecting the prohibition of hunting and trapping in certain territories

Act respecting the conservation and development of wildlife

(chapter C-61.1, s. 162).

1. Hunting and fishing are prohibited all year long in the territory, of the Massif de la Petite-Rivière-Saint-François described in Schedule I.

2. Hunting and trapping are prohibited from the third Saturday in September to 26 December in the Beauharnois Canal territory described in Schedule IV.

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION

TERRITORIES OWNED BY THE GOUVERNEMENT DU QUÉBEC, SITUATED IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF SAINT-FRANÇOIS-XAVIER-DE-LA-PETITE-RIVIÈRE

Two territories situated in the regional county municipality of Charlevoix, official cadastre of the Parish of Saint-François-Xavier, having a total area of 46.3 km2 and whose perimeters are described as follows:

Territory A: starting from a point situated on the dividing line between Saint-Nicolas and Saint-François-Xavier ranges at the intersection with the northeastern limit of lot 422 of Saint-Nicolas range; thence southwesterly, along the dividing line between the said ranges; thence southeasterly, along the northeastern limit of lot 296 of Saint-François-Xavier range over a distance of 328.57 m; thence, southwesterly, along a straight line crossing lots 296, 297, 300 and 301 to a point situated on the southwestern limit of lot 301, this point being situated at 286.81 m southeast of the dividing line between Saint-Nicolas and Saint-François-Xavier ranges; thence southeasterly, along the northeastern limit of lot 304 of Saint-François-Xavier range over a distance of 610.52 m; thence southwesterly, along a straight line to a point situated on the southwestern limit of lot 304 at 850.39 m southeast of the dividing line between Saint-Nicolas and Saint-François-Xavier ranges; thence southeasterly, along the northeastern limit of lot 305 to the northwestern limit of the right of way of the public road; thence, southwesterly, along the said limit to the meeting point with the dividing line between lots 329 and 331 of Les Pointes range; thence following the lines established by Land Surveyor Jules-Fabien Simard, reference plan No. 80-242 and his minutes dates 25 November 1980, following the bearings and distances given below:

This last point is situated on the northwestern limit of the right of way of the Canadian National Railways; thence southwesterly, along the said limit to the meeting with the southwestern limit of lot 378 of Saint-Grégoire range; thence northwesterly, along the said limit to the meeting with the northwestern limit of Saint-Grégoire range; thence northwesterly, along a straight line to the meeting with the extension of the southwestern limit of lot 604 of Côte-Saint-Pierre range, a point situated 557.21 m from the southeastern limit of Côte-Saint-Pierre range; thence northwesterly, along the said extension and the southwestern limit of lot 604 of Côte-Saint-Pierre range to its meeting with the southeastern limit of the right of way of highway 138; thence northeasterly, along the said limit to the meeting with the northeastern limit of Côte-Saint-Pierre range; thence southeasterly, along the said limit and the northeastern limit of Saint-Nicolas range to the starting point.

Area: 44 km2.

Territory B: starting from a point situated on the northeastern limit of lot 637 of Côte-de-Beauval range 304.8 m northwest of the northwestern limit of the right of way of the former route of highway 138; thence northeasterly, along a line parallel to and 304.8 m from the said route to the meeting with the northeastern limit of lot 681 of Côte-de-Beauval range; thence southeasterly, along the said limit, thence southwesterly, along the northwestern limit of the right of way of the present route of highway 138, thence northwesterly, along the southwestern limit of lot 637 of Côte-de-Beauval range to the starting point.

Area: 2.3 km2.

BEAUHARNOIS CANAL

A territory situated in the regional county municipality of Beauharnois-Salaberry, having an area of 36 km2 and whose perimeter is described as follows: starting at a point situated at the intersection of the Beauharnois hydroelectric dam on the southeastern side and the 160 elevation (highest elevation of the reservoir of the Beauharnois dam) on the east bank of Beauharnois Canal; thence in general southerly and southwesterly directions, along the 160 elevation to the southern right of way of New York Central Railway; thence in general southeasterly and northeasterly directions, along the southwestern and southeastern right of way of the railway to point A whose coordinates are: 5,016,650 m N and 586,340 m E, the said point being the eastern limit of the dam; thence in a general southwesterly direction, along the southeastern limit of the dam along the following points: B 5,015,320 m N and 586,650 m E, C 5,014,950 m N and 585,320 m E, D 5,012,000 m N and 583,700 m E, E 5,011,800 m N and 583,130 m E; F 5,011,100 m N and 583,150 m E; G 5,009,080 m N and 581,150 m E, H 5,009,390 m N and 580,910 m E, I 5,008,000 m N and 579,370 m E, J 5,008,100 m N and 578,980 m E, K 5,007,650 m N and 578,680 m E, L 5,007,040 m N and 577,100 m E, to point M whose coordinates are: 5,007,320 m N and 576,310 m E, a point situated on the 160 elevation of Beauharnois Canal; thence northwesterly, along a straight line to point N whose coordinates are: 5,008,340 m N and 575,420 m E, the said point being situated on the southeastern limit of the right of way of a road; thence in general northeasterly then northwesterly directions, along the southeastern and northeastern right of way of the road to point O whose coordinates are: 5,009,330 m N and 576,460 m E, the said point being the northwestern limit of the dam; thence in a general northeasterly direction, along the northwestern limit of the dam along the following points: P 5,010,370 m N and 578,790 m E, Q 5,016,000 m N and 582,790 m E, R 5,016,400 m N and 583,310 m E, to point S whose coordinates are: 5,017,140 m N and 583,270 m E, the said point being the southwestern limit of the right of way of New York Central Railway; thence in a general southeasterly direction, along the said limit of the right of way to point T whose coordinates are: 5,016,800 m N and 584,170 m E, the said point being situated on elevation 160; thence in a general northeasterly direction, along elevation 160 to the southwestern side of the Beauharnois hydroelectric dam; thence southeasterly, along a straight line to the starting point.
